Schoolwork, friendships, and independence are built on foundational skills, and those are the skills speech, motor, and cognitive delays affect. Here they are treated by one integrated team: the occupational therapist, the speech-language pathologist, and the therapist, working from the same care plan. Speech delay. Motor delay. Cognitive delay. They're named separately, but they rarely show up that way. A child with a motor delay almost always has speech consequences. A child with expressive language difficulty almost always has motor and sensory consequences.
Our program runs OT and speech-language therapy in the same building, with the whole clinical team meeting weekly. The plan is built for the whole developmental picture.
What the work looks like.
Inside the daily program, developmental work looks like:
- Speech-language therapy: expressive and receptive language, social communication
- Occupational therapy: sensory integration, motor planning, daily-living skills
- Skill practice woven through the day: small groups, real routines, real peers to practice with
- Parent coaching in the same frameworks, so the work transfers home
- School coordination with your permission, including IEP teams and outside therapists

Developmental work doesn't have an age cap. It has a coordination need. The need only grows as the picture gets more complex.
