What we treat

ADHD treatment for children, built around the whole child.

NorthStar Day is a pediatric day-treatment program where ADHD is rarely the only condition in the picture. Coordinated therapy, OT, psychiatry, and family work. Under one roof, on one care plan. For children ages 5–12 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

01 · Whole-child ADHD care

ADHD treatment that treats the whole child.

ADHD shows up in our program as attention, executive function, and the behavioral patterns that come with them, but it almost never shows up alone. We treat ADHD as part of a child's whole presentation, not a single diagnosis treated in isolation.

That means medication management is one tool on the team, not the whole plan. Our Director of Psychiatric and Health Services makes the call together with parents, while OT works on self-regulation, therapy builds executive-function strategies, and the family therapist gets an understanding of the home routines.

02 · The clinical work

What we actually do.

Inside the daily program, ADHD care looks like:

  • Pediatric psychiatry consultation and medication management on the team, in the same weekly meeting as the rest of your child's clinicians
  • Occupational therapy for self-regulation, sensory needs, and the body-based work attention rests on
  • Individual and group therapy targeting executive function, frustration tolerance, and peer relationships, all grounded in motivational interviewing, so your child is engaged in the work rather than dragged through it
  • Parent training in concrete routines (morning launch, homework, bedtime) that the family can hold
  • School coordination with your permission, including IEP and 504 conversations

Schedules are individualized: which therapies happen when is driven by your child's plan, not the other way around.

03 · The whole picture

ADHD almost never travels alone.

In our program, ADHD typically arrives with anxiety, with sensory processing differences, with mood concerns, with a learning difference, or with a history of early trauma. Sometimes all of the above. Our program is built for the reality of the children actually carrying it.

That's the difference an integrated program makes: everyone is in the same room.

04 · How to decide

Where to start.

NorthStar Day is for children whose ADHD affects more than focus. When impulsivity creates safety concerns, when emotional regulation derails the day, or when a child can't sustain a school day without support in place.

The first call is a 15-minute conversation with our admissions specialists. We listen first, then point you toward the right next step for your child.
