Who we hire.
NorthStar Day is a multidisciplinary pediatric day-treatment program, which means the clinical team is broad by design. The roles we hire for include licensed clinical therapists (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, psychologists), expressive arts therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, child psychiatrists, pediatric nutritionists, case managers, and educational coordinators.
What we look for cuts across roles: clinicians grounded in the models at the core of our program (CBT, DBT-informed skills work, Floortime, family systems therapy, motivational interviewing, expressive arts), who hold trauma-informed practice as a standard (not a workshop they took once), and who actually want to be in a room with other disciplines making clinical decisions together. Experience across more than one of those modalities is a plus; it's not required to start.
What working here is like.
Your caseload is small enough that you actually know the children on it. Your week includes a real team meeting, not a 15-minute check-in but a working session where the whole team looks at every child's plan together. Your supervisor is reading your notes and watching your work, not just signing paperwork.
The building is built for the clinical work: sensory-aware spaces, low-stim rooms, a sensory gym, an outdoor nature space. Lunch is real. The pace is humane. The standard of care is high, and we hold each other to it.
